Scripture Reading: 1 John 3:6-7
"6,No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. 7, Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.
It is once again another new year to fellowship and to rejoice in the Lord. Nothing is as painful as existence with no final destination. Everything, visible and invisible, has a place to call home or a place of origin. Everyone began somewhere, and our sole aim is to one day return and be accepted as people who have accomplished their task and the purpose for which we were created.
Before the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, He said something to his disciples. He said, “If you were of the world, the world would love his own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” This means that, we have an origin, and we are rooted on a solid rock. Now for the world to hate you because you have been called out and given an origin means there is great and mighty heavenly potentials accumulated on the inside of you and these potentials are far beyond the ways of this world. These potentials make you a replica of the father on earth.
With all these, many have to turn away from the ways of God and are pursuing a way into condemnation. We have acted out of who truly we are and have given ourselves a new identity that is not programmed from Heaven.
Today, our scriptures reads, “No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous." Let us not be deceived because righteousness must be seen in the life of every believer and every true follower of the way. You cannot be righteous today and tomorrow you are something else. Righteousness needs consistency and should be consistently practiced in our lives.
It is not also a secret that our unrighteousness delays our gifts and makes us ineffective event in our God giving potentials. The reason is simply because right and wrong cannot and will never operate within the same atmosphere. There is a certain environment and atmosphere for which the Spirit of God operates, and if that is not certain in your life, you will never experience the extraordinary. God almighty is ever ready to use each one of us, but until you turn over a new leaf and become the very person he created you to be, you will not have an encounter with the supernatural.
Turn over a new leaf now and begin to walk in wonders as promised in the faithful word of God. Did you know that righteousness does not only give you a right standing with God, but also is a mighty weapon God has given you? Examine the life of Job, Enoch and Daniel. People who purposed in their lives to live right before God no matter what happens, and you will understand that, a discipline life is one determined for success. Turn over a new leaf because God wants to use you for his Glory.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, this morning I stand in your word and I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that you enlighten my heart once again to have a right standing with you. I have long denied your standards and lived by the standards of this world and only received pain and sorrows. Mercy, I beg for and I pray for the ability to turn over a new leaf. Ability to become the very person you created me to be. Ability to walk in Glory and to move from Glory to Glory. I know you have answered my prayer and has declared me blessed. Thank you Lord for an answered prayer in Jesus Christ's name I pray. Amen.
